French Foot Artillery

I decided I needed to add a battery of artillery to my fledgling French army, but as I've got 12 crew figures and 3 guns I thought why not paint them all in one batch? So here they are.

All completed in less than a week, to be fair I have had a lot of spare time!

All original HH figures, but I think the guns are Hinchcliffe.

  1. Beautifully done and nice to see a massed battery of line - but are the crew mounted on a base before being mounted on the artillery base for a reason?

    1. Thanks for the kind comment Rob. The crew are mounted separately so they can be removed as individual casualties as per the Grant rules.

  2. Looking very smart and very deadly, David.
I've always thought that French artillery uniforms are the best!

    1. Thanks Matt, I've got a Guard foot artillery and a Guard horse artillery crew prepped and ready to paint. Those are particularly splendid uniforms which I'm looking forward to tackling. I've only got HH guns to accompany them unfortunately, these look quite puny next to the Hinchcliffe variants.
