After a few test games I've decided that individually based artillery crew figures just to make it easier to record damage is a bit of a pain, so I'm re-basing by fixing the figures on the gun bases. It also makes storage a lot easier. And 4-horse teams take up a lot of space on my very small table, so I'm downsizing to 2-horse teams. Here are the French so far, still a WIP. British to follow.
I think that although it is a pain rebasing you have done the right thing, the gunners fixed to the gun base look great and scaling down the limbers is a good idea and works well, they look super.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, long time no post. That's a lovely looking (insert collective noun for artillery) of guns you have there. When I started my 20mil Naps, I decided I would have no single foot figures to avoid all that toppling. So, my gun crews are fixed the battery base, but the guns are on separate bases that are placed in the middle of the crew. This allows me to change eth weapon and also brings it up to the height of the crew on their meatal bases. I also decided I wouldn't bother with limbers, I reckon I'll stick to that at least untli my armies are are actually armies.
